Jason Whelan was born on July 4 1973 in St. John's, Newfoundland the son of Paul and Margaret. Growing up originally in Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, he moved to St. John's in 1981. Since that time he has had an eclectic mix of interests and continues to pursue them to this day. A graduate of Pius X and Gonzaga schools he later attended Memorial, intent on pursuing a folklore degree but succumbed to other interests. He has travelled extensively and lived on two other islands, Ireland and Bermuda. Since return to Newfoundland in late 2002, he has been busy pursuing both a music career in performance and production which had been put on hold for a few years and continues to freelance as an Internetworking engineer specializing in Wide Area Networking.
