James A. Stedman IV, Assoc. AIA, LEEP AP earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon in 2009. While at Carnegie Mellon, he honed his architectural skills through work and experimentation with a myriad of media, both digital and physical.

He held a position as a Laser Cutter Monitor where he supervised and instructed students in the proper operation of the laser cutter. He also became proficient in using the School of Architecture's woodshop and 3-axis CNC mill often both for models and furniture design and construction.

James presented his urban design project to community members of Hazelwood. He also had his thesis project displayed at the United States Steel Building in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Each summer, James returned home to work at a custom steel fabrication shop where he drafted shop drawings and gained invaluable hands-on knowledge of construction.

At Rees Industrial he gained invaluable construction knowledge as he drafted shop drawings and worked closely with welders and fabricators. James gained first-hand fabrication knowledge as he constructed much of what he drafted.

James was an integral part of the Carnegie Mellon Baseball team, earning Most Valuable Player in 2006 and 2007. He was also named Second Team All-Region in 2007.

Soon after graduation, James became a LEED Accredited Professional of the United States Green Building Council.
