Description

Excerpted from the website description:

www.jackcurtin.com is the handiwork of Jack Curtin. His only defense is that creating it seemed like a good idea at the time. LIQUID DIET ONLINE is the site's most popular feature, a blog where Curtin, who makes a portion of his meager living writing about craft beers for both print publications and at various websites, does the same thing, only without benefit of an editor. Although LDO is filled with entirely too many inside jokes and, lord knows, can ramble on and on at times, a lot of people find it quite interesting. Go figure. I HAVE HEARD THE MERMAIDS SINGING is another blog in which he writes about Everything Else. Everything Else appears to mean, for the most, part, politics, books, television, film, comics and the day to day mishaps which comprise his life. The relationship of the blog's name to its content is a mystery best left to scholars with too much time on their hands. OTHER VISIONS is where he has assembled a steadily growing list of short stories and a novel which he insists is in progress. Try telling that to the people who've waited the better part of a decade for Chapter Four. On the other hand, some of the stories have been relatively successful, won an award or two and even been paid for. He is quite proud of this, not to mention grateful. He promises to add some non-fiction to the mix Real Soon Now. JACEY SERVICES is a new comics subscription service he has been running for more than two decades (it began way back in 1981 following the gruesome demise of a bookstore he once owned and became an online and moved online as soon as he discovered cyberspace word-of-mouth was his best sales tool). The service offers discounts on new comics, free shipping and even a few online comic strips for your reading pleasure. Such a deal. THE DUBYA CHRONICLES is not on this site at all, but is happily ensconced at a sister site which features a weekly political cartoon created with cartoonist Rob Davis and the archivesz of a one-time political commentary blog called THE GREAT DISCONNECT. Both of these features annoy and distress various visitors who should know better than to go there. Still, even most of them admit that the cartoon at least is usually pretty damned funny, which, reliable sources have informed us, what cartoons are supposed to be. If this is the sort of thing you like, this is probably the sort of thing you'll like. Or maybe not.
