Inspirational Worship is the result of a process that started when I became a pastor again after being an Industrial Chaplain for ten years. I did not realize how much the issues in the church had changed. Music, worship style, and how to communicate with those under thirty five are the issues today. The theological debates of the eighties are on the back burner.
After I arrived I discovered I had accepted a call to a declining, graying, forty year old church in a transitioning neighborhood. Twenty years ago over twenty-five babies were baptized every year. In my first year I baptized two.
How to attract the young without losing the old or how to attract the future without losing those who paid the bills - that was the challenge. I knew I needed to add a stronger visual component to worship to effectively reach the visually educated generation. As an Industrial Chaplain I made a lot of presentations using a computer driven digital projector and knew how powerful visually enhanced presentations can be.
