Founded in 1868, the mission of the church is to be a spiritual oasis in one of busiest business districts in the world - Times/Herald Square. The celebration of eight weekday Masses, confessions, and public devotions, enables visitors to give thanks to the Lord and to pray for personal and communal needs. Shrine Dedicated to Children Who Have Died Unborn is located within the church. The names of these children are placed in the Book of Life. A candle is always lit in their honor.
