Inclusive Church

Description

Who are we?

InclusiveChurch.net is an Anglican network of individuals, church councils and organisations that have signed up to Inclusive Church's Statement of Belief. We are not a 'single issue' group. We are a grass roots network with a campaigning edge, open to anyone who shares our vision of an inclusive church. As our statement says, we believe that, in order to strengthen the Gospel's proclamation of justice to the world, and for the greater glory of God, the church's own common life must be justly ordered.

It seems that we are not alone. Over 9000 individual Christians, and many organisations and P.C.C.s have joined in signing the statement since InclusiveChurch.net was launched. By any measure, this is a huge response. And the network grows day by day.

The rejection of Canon Jeffrey John was probably the most recent high-profile example of injustice in our church, but it is certainly not the only one. We are aware that there are many individuals, groups and organisations that have been working long and hard, often with little support or encouragement, to highlight and overcome injustices in our Church. Some have already joined InclusiveChurch.net. We want to honour them all and celebrate their courage. We believe that by forming InclusiveChurch.net, we can work together to recover the inclusive nature of the church which is the heart and soul of Anglicanism.
