Started in 1994 in old St. Augustine by two local computer "geeks", Auglink has always been a local business. They started Auglink as an Internet Service Provider with ten customers, two computers and eight modems. Now Auglink is one of the largest ISP's based in North Florida.
A few years ago, we decided to try to provide competitive local and long distance phone service, as well as high-speed DSL internet to our local customers. Everything seemed to be going fine until just this last year or so, when you-know-who began to re-establish their dominance of the industry. Confronted by service issues, billing issues, and with some new very unfavorable legislative decisions small companies like Auglink could no longer compete.
Although we truly regret the calamitous and disruptive (at least for our customers) way we were forced to leave the telephone business, we are glad to "get back to business", which for us means the Internet and data business.
