- In 1989, Rebecca Shadowen, M.D. and Susie Skea, LPN formed the first Infectious Disease practice in southcentral Kentucky. Since that time, we have continued to serve the community and region. We remain stable and active in all areas of infectious disesases and travel medicine. Dr. Shadowen is the epidemiologist at both our local hospitals. Melinda Pendley, ITS has been a welcomed addition since 2003 assisting in the office and with billing services. Lisa Hays, A.R.N.P. joined Dr. Shadowen in 2004 and has added another dimension to the practice, facilitating patients in the hospital and the office. Medical Specialists of Central Kentucky, P.S.C. continues to enjoy the special people of southcentral Kentucky.
