Founded in 1994, Innovative Communications Technologies Inc. (OTCPK: ICTN) has been a pioneer in the development, implementation, and positioning of private telecommunications products for business customers. Innovative's CEO, Barry Henthorn, created the initial proprietary technology in 1988, which enabled him to market Private Telecommunications Networks (PTNs) in the Seattle-Tacoma market. ICT then utilized the experience gained from the development and implementation of PTNs in the greater Seattle/Tacoma market to design, develop, and introduce the Global Private Telecommunications Network (GPTN) product.
The unique, self-contained Global Private Telecommunications Network (GPTN) product allows voice to travel between calling areas as if they were local, eliminating "per minute" long distance charges for business customers and typically reducing monthly long distance costs by 50%. This revolutionary product creates an entirely new category of communication, which allows the business customer a straightforward migration to state-of-the-art, evolving technologies without replacing existing telecommunication equipment or incurring upfront and ongoing infrastructure costs. The GPTN product allows calls to begin and end on existing local lines and uses dedicated fiber-optic networks for the long distance portions of calls (in the North American Dialing Plan), eliminating the need for long-distance carriers and is available to business customers in the United States and Canada.
In 1995 ICT formed The Innovative Cellular Division and entered the wireless market by acquiring Emerald City Cellular's customer base along with some key officers and administrative staff. Their years of experience in the cellular market included the launch of the nation's first "free phone" campaign with regional partner Speedy Auto Glass. The success of this promotion was the beginning of change for the entire cellular market. ICT has been an authorized agent for US West Cellular and Sprint PCS, a reseller for AT&T Wireless and in January 2004 became a National Premier VAR dealer for T-Mobile, USA.
