Description
The ICE Virtual Library contains every peer-reviewed paper produced by the Institution of Civil Engineers since its first meeting in 1836.
The Institution's journals date back to 1836 when the first volume of Transactions was published. Three volumes of the Transactions were published between 1836 and 1842 containing around 80 technical papers.
The first volume of the Institution's Proceedings was published in 1837. Entitled the Minutes of Proceedings, these contained not only papers but also Institution matters such as annual reports, announcements and membership grade transfers as well as abstracts of papers published in other contemporary journals.
