Description
The role of the International Australian Football Council (IAFC) is to promote and develop Australian football internationally. It is responsible for the global expansion of the game through its Members and through its international Development Program. The IAFC is based in Melbourne, Australia.
In May 1995 representatives from Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore met in Darwin during the Arafura Games and founded the International Australian Football Council (IAFC).
In 1997 the IAFC appointed Will McKenzie, from New Zealand, as its first President with former VFL legend and Victorian Minister for Sport Brian Dixon as Vice-President.
