- I am a retired Marine Master Sergeant. My interest in Iwo Jima started in 1992 with a visit to Iwo Jima, just before retiring from the Corps. While going back to school, I was able to turn Iwo Jima into several course projects, and eventually into a thesis topic, which led to this web site.
