Title

HyperBowl - Virtual Bowling Game for Arcades and Home PC

Description

HyperBowl takes the fun and excitement of classic bowling to a new dimension by combining it with the latest in computer technology and big screen sights and sounds. HyperBowl can also go where no other bowling lane can, taking only 33% of the space required by conventional bowling lanes.

The first 9 HyperBowl Attraction Lanes opened in 1999 at Metreon in San Francisco, as seen frequently on TechTV's Extended Play. In addition to the Attraction version, HyperBowl is now available in Compact Rear Projection and Arcade Cabinet versions for even more efficient use of space. Beginning October 25th, 2001, HyperBowl became available for the home PC.

The original location-based HyperBowl features a unique "Life Size" Bowling Ball as a User Interface. The player controls the virtual bowling ball on the video screen by "rolling" a regulation size bowling ball, as if it were an oversized trackball. Players must use the ball to dodge obstacles along the way to the pins, as each virtual lane presents unique scenery and challenges.
