- In short, it makes it possible to have clients "pull" value from the software development system, instead of having it "pushed" onto them. It gets cheaper to produce software. And maybe ... just maybe (though I don't hold my breath)... we can take the hype out of the product release ritual and instead introduce the notion (just think of it!) that one purpose for a release is to illicit feedback from the customer.
