Out of the Fire Studio is located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and is owned and operated by Cindy Clarke and her husband Jim Willett. Cindy has potted all her life, first as a child with clay from her mother's garden in Dawson Creek British Columbia, then in elementary and high schools and finally as a profession. While Cindy currently does all the wheel work, Jim works at slab building, kiln loading and unloading, glazing and the myriad other tasks involved in running a studio Handle applications, trimming, and finishing work are shared equally. Jim also provides web site maintenance and design and does most of the labeling, packaging and shipping. Through our e-commerce websites at www.outofthefirestudio.com and www.outofthefirestudio.ca we offer a complete line of pottery for purchase. As well we sell wholesale to over forty retailers throughout Canada.
Re-located in August of 2001 from Edson, Alberta the studio is the home of all types of wheel thrown and hand built pottery items. We are working on an informative instructional video series called "A Down to Earth Look at How We Make Pottery. and the first DVD in the series is available for sale on our web sites and at various retail outlets. If you want to continue with our explanation of how to make pottery the DVD series is an excellent tool.
