- We were on our annual family vacation (which we haven’t gone on in 3 years) around ‘96 or so. There was a hurricane that was coming through Florida. We like to stay in the panhandle; Destin to be exact. The glass door in the back of our condo was blowing inward and tiles were flying off the roof. We wanted to go get food so we drove to the local Winn-Dixie. People were on the beach videotaping huge waves that must have been over 10 feet high. At the store there was absolutely no fresh food. Only cookies. And soda.
