Run by Robyn Medlicott, a mother of two pre-school age children, Hopscotch Kids sells everything from slat beds, scotch chests and toy boxes, to tall boys, bookcases, bedheads and bedside cabinets.The idea for the company came after Robyn had been looking for business opportunities while at home with her children.
"I wanted to do something for myself and discovered there was quite a gap in the market for children's bedroom furniture that looked good, was affordable and of good quality. After doing some initial research, I decided this was an avenue I could take further."
Robyn contacted South Island suppliers, manufacturers and painters, and began business late 2003. Additional pieces, including coat hooks, cube shelving and a range of bedding and blankets are continuously being added to the collection. As more people get to see the Hopscotch Kids Collection, more and more people want access to it. Hence, Hopscotch Kids furniture can now also be bought in Blenheim and Dunedin.
