- Gail Epstein Mengel, Ph.D., the developer of the Homework Organizer, has over 30 years of experience as a nationally certified and licensed school psychologist. She has individually assessed more than 3,000 children ages 5 to 18. As a field trainer and graduate school professor she has trained numerous students and school psychologists and has lectured at the national, state, and regional levels. Her focus for the past fifteen years has been on helping kids solve their organizational challenges—to help them get their homework done on time and thus increase their grades. She believes that many problems that look like avoidance, resistance and noncompliance can often be traced to an organizational disability. Dr. Mengel authored the Homework Organizer in its first edition in 1991, developing the second completely revised edition in 2002.
