We are Russell and Carolyn Nelson. Having established 'Homestead Farm' Alpaca Stud in 1998 we have been breeding Alpacas with care ever since. Our farm is conveniently located beside State Highway One on the sweeping plains of Mid Canterbury, New Zealand
We have a background in Farming, Animal Husbandry and Tourism, and introduced the Suri alpaca to New Zealand in 1998. Nine Suri Alpaca, six females and three males, were selected from top Australian Studs with the widest genetic base possible.
