- My name is Gary Lee Goodman. I was in the United States Air Force from 1974-1978 . I attended Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Based In San Antonio Texas. Then I was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi Mississsippi. I went to 3 months of basic electronics then had 7 months of Radar School learning search and precision radar. When I got out of the air force I attended El Camino Junior College in Torrance California and recieved an AA degree in electronics technology with honors. I then worked as an electronics technician in the Aerospace Industry. I worked as an electronic technician for a total of 8 years. Then I decided to become an Electrical Engineer and went to California State University Long Beach from 1978 to 1982. My first job was in the power supply development unit at Northrop Electronics Division working on the inertial management unit which is the guidance system for the M/X missile. I worked in the power supply development unit on the redesign of the 5 volt power supply.
