Skiathos Holiday Guide
Description
Excerpted from the website:
- Located in the north-western Aegean sea Skiathos is the natural starting off place for the Sporades islands. (From the Greek for scattered). Although it is the most famous of this group it is actually the smallest covering an area of just 48 square kilometers, (6.5 miles long from east to west and 3.5 miles wide), 44 kilometers of coastline and a population of around 6.200. Its two neighbors Skopelos and Alonnisos and the Greek mainland are just a short boat trip away while the fourth island in the group Skyros is far off to the southeast. There are also some smaller uninhabited islands east of Skiathos which are worth a visit.
