- HIS Home For Children is an IRS registered orphanage located at Delmas 75, Rue Cassagnol #24, Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. The Nungesters and 3 full-time staff members live in the home with 88 children and maintain a waiting list of needy children. Boys and girls range in ages from birth to 13. While some of the children are orphans, many have been abandoned to the home by a single parent who is unable to provide for them due to extreme poverty. Most of the children come with medical conditions resulting from years of malnutrition, but improve quickly with three nutritious meals a day, vitamins, necessary medicines, and purified drinking water. School is held in the on-sight classroom for children ages 5 and older. Our Christian teacher conducts the classes in both English and Creole, with older students learning French. The 3 and 4 year olds began attending pre-school classes off-site at Quisqueya Chapel in September 2005 with a volunteer Christian teacher. On Sunday mornings, Sunday school classes are taught at HIS Home for our children and children from another community orphanage, as an outreach ministry to share the gospel of Jesus with the children of the community. Following Sunday School, the children attend worship services at Quisqueya Chapel. The chapel also has a wonderful playground facility where the children play several times a week.
