Description
Hightown Events Ltd. is owned and operated by Rae Anderson. She will provide professional planning for corporate, special, and personal events.
Rea Anderson is a 24 year resident of Breckenridge. She moved to town in 1981 to ski for a few years with her new husband, Ed. Twenty-four years and 3 businesses later, Rae and Ed still have no plans to leave any time soon. Rae spent her first 8 years selling real estate, a profession which she began in Denver. With the arrival of two children, she found it increasingly difficult to juggle the demands of her family with a career in real estate. It was at that time that the idea for "Baby's Away" was born. "Baby's Away" is a baby supply rental business targeting the vacationing family. Rae started out with one stroller and three cribs. When she sold the business, ten years later, it had become a network of franchises in thirty locations in nearly all the major ski communities and beach towns, with a combined inventory of hundreds of cribs and strollers. After a short break, Rae was off to a new career - Event Planning. In 1999, Rae and a friend and businesss partner started Hightown Event Planning. Her partner has since moved away, but Rae has stayed on to run Hightown.
In addition, Rae has been on the Board of Directors of the Breckenridge Resort Chamber for four years and has coached the Summit County girl's high school tennis team for the past five years. She has given her time to many volunteer positions in Breckenridge, including the Breckenridge Festival of Film, the Breckenridge Music Institute, the Summit Foundation, Carriage House PreSchool, and the Breckenridge Elementary School. She has planned fund raising dinners for a local Junior Olympic skier, run the Breckenridge Festival of Film Tennis Tournament for ten years, served on the Board of Directors for Team Breckenridge Ski Team and Carriage House PreSchool, and chaired the Breckenridge Elementary School Accountability Committee. In short, Rae has a wealth of local community knowledge and not for profit experience. She would love to put this to work for your Breckenridge event.
