The office of Hewitt Designs deals mainly with contemporary homes. We strive to make each project specific to the occasion - recognizing the fact that each client has different requirements and needs. We like to deal with the functional aspect of design first - ensuring that the overall layout / concepts are correct with regards to the fundamental aspects of the site. We do not like to deal in "styles" as such but rather let the site conditions dictate the design keeping in mind the client's wishes and desires. We firmly believe that a well designed house that resolves functional issues can create an attractive building. Using these building blocks we create our architecture out of these rather than importing some "pseudo" style that does not fit with the occasion.
Richard Hewitt started HEWITT DESIGNS in Kelowna in July 1993 after moving from Cape Town, South Africa where he had practiced as an architect since 1977.
The business has grown every year since then and projects completed vary in size from small renovations to luxury homes. Most of the new work that comes into the office comes from referrals from past clients. Therefore every project is important to us as your satisfaction with our design work will ensure future referral work, a vital ingredient to our business and some form of guarantee to clients.
