Description
Heath McKenzie a Melbourne based artist, began drawing back before he could remember anything - or so he's been told...he can't really remember. Early reports indicate, around the age of five, Heath went through his 'Pink Panther' period, fortunately however, he has since moved on from focussing specifically on luridly coloured jungle cats to broaden his repertoire considerably (though lurid colours still tend to creep in from time to time)
He achieved his first literary success with a self published 'Doug Anthony Allstars' comic book series, receiving critical and public acclaim and has since worked with numerous publishers and production companies, his work also currently being adapted for a range of designer jewellery and fashion items.
Heath is generally inspired by too much television, too many movies and music (lots of music). He is specifically inspired by the art of SHAG, movie posters, 50s & 60s commercial art, Japanese signs, cartoons (anything animated, really!) and toys, toys and more toys (actually, toys have little influence - but it's a good excuse to buy them!)
