Mother jewelry - silver and gold jewelry for mother and child - baby gifts from Heartbeat Designs.

Description

" I was born and raised in Greenwich Village New York in the days when it flourished with big families and small mom & pop stores. I was the first-born of five children in a close-knit family. I grew up in a home that some might consider a bit noisy...lots of babies and pets -- music and laughter often flowing out the doors and windows..."

I had a colorful childhood, but it wasn't all rainbows and lollipops. We were the working class poor and there were plenty of hard times. I believe what is derived from such hard times are close family bonds, strong aspiration and a greater ability to appreciate the good times. Being the oldest there has always been a special place in my heart for babies. I prayed for a healthy daughter and son -- and was blessed with two precious angels. I'm an avid collector of cherubs -- my angel collection holds great sentimental value to me, as many have been given to me by cherished family and friends. By far my greatest gifts are my children -- and the deep love I hold in my heart for them is what inspired "You Grew In My Heart "

Being brought up by an ingenious mother, musical father -- and thriving in such a celebrated area of creativity -- I developed a passion for many crafts. I'm a published poet who has also enjoyed dabbling in songwriting. My first children's book "The Olive Tree" has just been published. The making of this book was truly a labor of love for all involved, which is quite evident in the finished product. Designing jewelry wasn't a life long ambition for me -- actually you could say it found me. Yet once I created my first design I knew that it was something I was meant to do. I had to learn the jewelry business and its lingo practically overnight -- I'm still learning. It's a tough business; there isn't much patience for beginners. I would have to compare the process I went through to learning how to swim by being thrown into the river. However, I believe this method may be the best way to learn. If I had known up front all the steps and obstacles I would have to face and overcome it may have discouraged me and there may not be a Heartbeat Designs today. I believe it was kismet...I absolutely love what I'm doing!
