Description
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 gives the public a general right of access to all types of written information held by public authorities. It is designed to encourage more open and accountable government.
Under part one of the Act, the Health Promotion Agency for Northern Ireland has developed a publication scheme which outlines the information it is making available to the public.
Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 requires public authorities, in carrying out their functions, powers and duties, to promote equality of opportunity and good relations among a range of groups. The Equality Commission approved the Agency’s Equality Scheme in July 2001.
