- In 1972, Warren Hawley Jr., a painter, teamed up with his contractor brother-in-law in Somerville, Massachusetts and Hawley & Sons was open for business. Together, they forged ahead to "do everything necessary to bring in the business." Business was good, but the winters were harsh. In 1980, Warren headed west to Phoenix. The weather was an improvement, but the business climate for small contractors was dismal and only got worse over the years. In 1988, Warren made the hard decision to start over yet again, this time in California. He settled in Sacramento and was in immediate demand.
