Description
Crew is a fast-growing, exciting sport, popular with high school and college students, their families, and cities and towns adjacent to rowing venues. Established in 2003 as an independent club, the Haddonfield Crew Club (HCC) is a relatively new and growing team. The HCC rows in both the New Jersey Scholastic Rowing League and the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing League, which is considered one of the best leagues in the nation. As many as 60 rowers from Haddonfield Memorial High School have participated in the prestigious regattas held between March and May each year in the local area. These include:
Cooper River Sprints and the NJ State Scholastic Rowing Championship - drawing 60 schools from NJ to participate in 20+ events - held on the Cooper River
Mercer Lake Super Sprints and the 2005 Scholastic Rowing Association of America regatta (“Nationals”) held on Mercer Lake in Princeton. Of note, Haddonfield sent six boats – three boys’ and three girls’ boats – to the 2004 National Championship Regatta in Orlando, Florida!
