Title

GSM Valtech sub contract manufacture sheet metal enclosures, cabinets, fascias, panels & trims

Description

GSM was established in 1974 by our current CEO trading as GSM Graphic Arts Ltd, producing nameplates and labels based in a vacated Army barracks and parade ground in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

Expansion came through organic growth and acquisition and in 1979 Valtech Industries was purchased and moved to the Thirsk site. At that time, Valtech Industries manufactured laboratory equipment such as, machined receptacles and plastic coated magnetic stirrers. In 1995 sheetmetal capability was added with the introduction of punching and folding equipment. GSM had now entered into the market place offering graphic panels produced by Graphic Arts complete with metal enclosures and ancillary metal parts produced by Valtech Industries.

In 1997 the GSM GROUP acquired the metalwork fabrication plant of Farnell Electronics based at Wetherby, West Yorkshire. This site had been producing fabricated enclosures for Farnell products since 1957. The GSM GROUP has restructured and significantly expanded this facility by investing over £1 million in state of the art technology, machinery and people. This is now the 28,000 square ft. site of GSM Valtech Industries Ltd.
