Description
Green Spirit Fuels Ltd was launched in June 2005 by grain trader Wessex Grain. The company was founded to produce and market bioethanol, initially through its wholly-owned subsidiary Wessex Biofuels Ltd., which is in the process of obtaining planning permission for a bioethanol plant to be built adjacent to the current Wessex Grain site.
It is planned that the company will produce bioethanol on a number of sites in the UK from locally produced feedstocks, principally wheat, with its first plant expected to commence production in 2007.
Bioethanol is a more environmentally friendly form of fuel for vehicles which normally run on petrol. It saves carbon emissions (greenhouse gases) during its production, and burns more cleanly and efficiently. Click here for more information about bioethanol.
