Camp Green Lane - Welcome

Description

Founded in 1926, Camp Green Lane is a traditional seven week overnight camp. It lies nestled among hundreds of beautiful rolling acres in rural, pristine, eastern Pennsylvania. Thousands of families from all over the United States have considered Green Lane their summer home because of the warm, safe and secure, nurturing Jewish environment. It’s a place where kids can enjoy just being kids, where old fashioned fun is the top priority, where the bottom line is happiness .

Mel Brodsky (B.A., M.A., M.ED) started at Green Lane as a camper in 1950 and has held every position the camp has to offer. Mel was an all-star basketball player at Temple University, coached at Villanova University, and is an inductee into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. He also had a very successful teaching career and was a long time principal of an award winning middle school in suburban Pennsylvania. Mel and Penny Brodsky are one of many Green Lane marriages!

Jon (Jake) Weston (B.S.) – Associate Director, came to Green Lane as a counselor in 1993, was a Color War captain in 1997, and became a supervisor in 1999. He is a graduate of Florida State University, and was teaching in Florida when Mel asked him to join the Green Lane team full time in 2001. Jon’s wife, Cari, helps to run our field office.
