- The Great Northern Moose Lodge was originally built to serve as a hunting and fishing lodge for the area, in the early 1950's. Today the building is the last structure along the Androscoggin River, on New Hampshire's Route 16 before entering the 13 Mile Woods Conservation Area. Located in the incorporated town of Dummer, New Hampshire, named after the former Massachusetts Bay Lieutenant Governor William Dummer. Also the name sake of Governor Dummer Academy, considered the first college preparatory school in America.
