The Grand Forks International Committee has announced that the GFI will go ahead in 2008. The GFI has approached local businessman Everett Baker who agreed to lead the team of over 300 volunteers. When asked why he is willing to join the GFI team. Everett said " I just could not see Grand Forks and the Boundary Area lose a world class event like the GFI. The GFI brings in over $250, 000.00 to this community and as a businessman I just couldn't stand by and see us lose the GFI. I admit I have big shoes to fill. Out going Coordinator, of the past 6 years, Gerry Foster has set the bar very, very high and has worked hard to put on this world class event. My job is to continue where Gerry has left off. I look forward to working with the committee and the team of volunteers to bring back the GFI in 2008."
