The Greenwich Institute for Science and Technology (GIST) is a private, independent research institute located in Northern Virginia, near old Greenwich town. Scientists at GIST conduct a wide variety of basic and applied research in LIDAR and robotics technologies, mathematical modeling and dynamic simulations, astrophysics and Earth sciences.
