20 years and still growing… GEMPLER'S (a division of Lab Safety Supply, Inc.) began over 20 years ago with the basic idea of helping farmers repair tires in their own shops. Being able to save on repair bills and reduce downtime in the field was popular from the start. We mailed our first catalog in 1986, and not long after, our customers were asking where they could find protective equipment for mixing and loading chemicals. We responded by expanding into safety supplies – respirators, protective clothing, gloves and more. This led us into serving horticulture and grounds maintenance customers. Within a few years, we were serving a growing number of businesses with people who work outdoors.
A new twist on protection… In 1995 the same people looking to us for protection from pesticides began requesting that we supply workwear and footwear. Our customers wanted protection from both the cold and the heat while staying comfortable and dry. We found that people were looking for commercial-grade products that many stores didn’t or couldn't afford to stock. We added a broad selection of commercial-grade waterproof boots, Carhartt® clothing and hard-to-find gloves; all in a wide range of sizes and styles you couldn't get in local stores. Our selection of workwear and footwear has grown to over 100 catalog pages and now includes full-service embroidery.
Hard-to-find commercial-grade products… Over the years, GEMPLER'S has developed a skill for selecting the right products and organizing them in a way that makes it easier to shop. In recent years we have further expanded into pest management, shop and maintenance supplies, and crop, turf and nursery production. Our approach is still the same; sort through all the available products and handpick the best ones. Doing so saves our customers time and money. We now offer over 17,000 different items which are all available in our full-line Master catalog and this web site. And, if we don’t have it, we can special order it.
