Our History
Giving Children Hope was founded in 1993 by John Ditty and his wife. They had committed their lives to help the world's neediest upon the adoption of two Eastern European children. Observing the great needs in their children's home countries, they began to help through the delivery of medical supplies and equipment to some of the most economically impacted parts of the world
As part of that mission, however, it became obvious that more was needed to help children and their families particularly. While Global continues to send medical supplies and equipment throughout the needy parts of our world (see the website at www.godaid.com), Giving Children Hope particularly attempts to customize its work to the particular needs of needy children and their family context. Giving Children Hope also has made it a priority to work with needs in the USA and North America primarily, while also participating in worldwide needs that also touch the lives of children.
Giving Children Hope is a funded organization by the United Way of Orange County and is a member of InterAction. This verifies the quality of care we provide, and enables GCH to come into even greater contact with the needs of the poor in and around our local area.
