Description

The Gateway Concert Band is a community band based in Enumclaw. Under the direction of Jack Prindle, the band was formed in March of 1996. Since that time it has presented over 40 performances; all of the band's concerts have been free-of-charge. It's five main concerts are usually presented at the Enumclaw High School Auditorium in September, November, and April; or at Goodwill Park (the grassy area in front of the Enumclaw Library) in June and August, weather permitting. Additional appearances include participation in Enumclaw's Christmas and Fourth of July parades, Enumclaw's Street Fair, and music for memorial observances at the Enumclaw Veteran's Memorial and theTahoma National Military Cemetery.

The Gateway Concert Band is a non-profit corporation registered with the State of Washington and the I.R.S. With a current membership of about 40 members, it includes members from Tacoma to Renton, and from ages 16 to 70+. The band is open to interested adult and competent high school instrumentalists, without audition. It rehearses on Monday evenings at Enumclaw Middle School from 7 until 9 P.M. from January through November.
