BOSTON INC HISTORY Established by Vince Fonti, Sr. in 1969 with a $5,000 investment to purchase Appliancemart in Madison, Boston Inc. has grown to become one of Wisconsin’s largest independent furniture, appliances, and electronics retailers with a centralized distribution center in Stevens Point and stores in Appleton, DePere, Green Bay, Oshkosh, Rhinelander, Plover and Wausau.
This growth has been achieved through a simple yet powerful philosophy to grow the company one guest at a time, by providing the finest shopping experience in Wisconsin.
BOSTON INC TODAY Led today by the second generation, Boston Inc. remains a family-owned business whose culture starts at the top, with brothers Bill (president & chief operating officer), Joseph (vice president of operations) and Vince Jr. (vice president of merchandising & purchasing). The mutual respect these three have for each other and the relationship they share is the core of the company’s culture. “No question, my sons’ relationship is one of the company’s greatest strengths,” explains Fonti Sr. “They share a harmony and the ability to communicate, openly and honestly, to reach a common goal.”
