First Securities Discount House Limited (FSDH) is the pioneer discount house and a leading provider of financial services in Nigeria. FSDH was incorporated in June 1992 but commenced operations in March 1993 and has quickly established a reputation for providing high quality financial services to business enterprises, the various tiers of government in Nigeria and High Net Worth individuals.
We are a major player in the Nigerian money market. On a weekly basis, we trade an average volume of N33.2billion in Treasury Bills and N7.1billion in Commercial Bills. Furthermore, with an asset base of N29.1 billion and a pre-tax profit of N658.4 million for the year ended June 2001, FSDH is the largest and most profitable discount house in Nigeria. We advise on financial and capital structure and strategy, raise capital, make markets in money market instruments and manage investment assets for a carefully selected clientele.
Our shareholders include a diverse group of reputable institutions including the International Finance Corporation (the private sector arm of the World Bank) and Intermarket Services Limited (parent company of Intermarket Discount House of Zimbabwe). These two shareholders have a total shareholding of 13% in the company. Our local shareholders include top-ranking Nigerian banks and other financial service providers.
