Description

Excerpted from the website:

Linda Stang has been creating folk-art gift items for over 20 years. Reproductions of her original designs can be found in gift shops throughout the United States. She credits her success to the influence and creativity of her parents, Estil & Iris Newkirk. "As a child I would spend hours watching my father making furniture and toys in his woodshop. To this very day, I still love the smell of fresh cut wood and sawdust." Linda's earliest creations were Christmas gifts that she made from pattern books. "I've always loved making gifts for friends and family." After taking folk-art and drawling courses in the mid 70's she discovered that she no longer needed pattern books. Her excitement for producing new and creative items kept her working and painting for incredible numbers of hours ….. chasing the limits of her imagination. Soon Linda was exhibiting her original folk-art creations all over the eastern half of the United States. By the mid 80's Linda was teaching folk-art classes in her home town of Loveland, Ohio. She met a talented gift designer, Mike Stang, at an Arts & Crafts exhibit in Buffalo, New York in 1988. In 1990 Linda & Mike joined forces in business, and in marriage. The folk-art gift items on this website have been produced from Linda & Mike's original art and designs, and can be purchased directly from their Company, Freeform Design. Currently, when items on this website are ordered with personalization, the names are brush painted by Linda, or Mike personally.
