framethepast.co.uk has been created to allow public access to a choice selection of photographic pictures derived from lantern slides and negative glass plates.
The photographic plates themselves form part of an extensive collection compiled over many years. Therefore should you wish to make any inquiries regarding the possible existence of other pictures of a subject portrayed that may not have been chosen for the gallery, please contact us and we shall do our best to help.
The criterion for inclusion in the gallery was generally based upon the historical aspect or in many cases the interesting subject matter. One other major consideration was the condition of the original plate, too much deterioration would normally preclude its inclusion.
