- Founded in 1986 with an investment from Peking University, the Founder Group has come a long way to become a well-known IT enterprise in China and plays an important role in the development of China’s IT industry. With a total staff of over 20,000, Founder Group now owns 5 listed public companies on the securities exchanges of Shanghai, Shenzhen, Malaysia and Hong Kong, as well as more than 20 wholly-funded companies and joint-ventures both home and abroad. It is one of the first 6 government-approved technical innovation units, one of the top 500 large state-owned enterprise groups and one of 120 large selected pilot enterprise groups. In 2005, it ranked the 11th in the Top 100 State Electronic and Information Enterprises and ranked the 9th in the Top 100 Beijing Enterprises. Most importantly, it achieved revenue of 22 billion yuan in 2004.
