He is an established American contemporary painter with exceptional high standards. His home is in New England but he grew up in high mountains of Asia Minor and travels to Rockies several times a year for painting and backcountry skiing. He has studied painting in Teheran University School of Fine Arts during college years. Later he studied with late Edgar Whitney from Pratt, NY, graduate of courses in Grand Central Academy of Fine Art, NY and participated in workshops sharing experience with other painters. He is a scholar in the field of art and visual perception as well as art history. He started as a watercolorist with a technique born out of marriage of wet in wet American technique and traditional British overlapping washes with brilliant pure trasparent results . He has moved from impressionist watercolors done plein aire ala prima to abstract landscapes and back to connecting with real and palpable experiences of life. The move back was instigated by his response to nature heightened by his intimate experience with ragged mountains and snow covered fields of North and South America on his backcountry ski trips; a poetic response now expressed in oil on canvas. His lyrical response to intangible atmospheric and the mood of nature infuses the whole composition of his paintings and reveals his character and artistic creativity. He is an elected exhibiting artist member of Rockport Art Association, North shore Art Association, Lyme Art Association and Oil Painters of America where he exhibits frequently. His award winning paintings are sought after and are in many public and private collections.
