for equal access
Description
Excerpted from the website:
- I first became interested in Assistive Technology and Disability Rights Advocacy in 1998 as a student a Grand Valley State University in Michigan. My initial interest was in finding solutions for myself and my own struggles with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. With the support of Dr. Elizabeth Schaughency, Dr. Alexandra Gottado (both of the Psychology Department) and Dave Darnell (my boss and the Director of Academic Computing) my interest was allowed to expand to building an Assistive Technology program campus wide at GVSU. (Dr. Schaughency is still at GVSU, Dr. Gottardo is now at Wilfred Laurier University in Ontario, Dave Darnell is now at abeedle.com, a company that builds admissions web portals for universities.)
