- Footron’s name consists of two parts which, by themselves, explain the very nature of this site. Foo is a metasyntactical variable - a “filler word” for any given variable. Foo, just like “blah” or similiar words, therefore stands for “anything”. The -tron suffix gives this concept personality. I don’t intend to confuse readers with unpredictable content, though. Don’t mistake the metasyntactical nature of this domain for indecision. Instead interpret it as the creative outlet of someone with an interest in all things geek.
