History
Fluency was created as a spin-off from the Voice Research & Development team of netdecisions, the leading technology group. This R&D Operation was established in Cambridge in 1998 and focused on the development of speech recognition systems based on the VoiceXML standard.
Fluency became a separate entity in May 2001 in order to commercialise this technology research. The company began the creation of a software development platform specifically aimed at automating call centre activities. This platform became Fluency’s VoiceRunner.
