About the Author
A. Sorel was born in the Midwestern United States in the mid-1970's to a college English professor mother and an industrial technician father. Brought up in a stimulating middle-class environment until his parents separated when he was 8 years of age, his mother always encouraged him to look at the 'big picture' when presented with a problem. A few years later his mother was diagnosed with cancer and the family moved in with a relative in an underprivileged neighborhood where he remembers cold nights sleeping in his makeshift room on the porch reading science books. Unable to focus at school, he subsequently dropped out of 8th grade. Eventually making it to high school he, again, dropped out before completing the first semester. During this time he sought solace in the early Internet and at the library. He also wrote a 100-page manuscript entitled, "The Nature of Existence", at age 16, which he promptly burned upon completion. During this time he developed the predecessor to Flucidity Theory, calling it the "Chaos Engine". Enrolling in a GED class and receiving a high school equivalency diploma 2 years after his mother's death he then entered art school where he studied painting and drawing for nearly one semester. When he could not find a part-time job to help fund his college tuition, he dropped out of school again and decided to pursue a career in finance. At a large financial firm he quickly worked his way 'from the back door' up through the organization where he became its youngest executive and assistant head of the market intelligence department all within the span of a month. At a later position at the main office of a Midwestern college school system he was able to perform a large-scale test of a Chaos Engine model, in secret, when he was IT Project Manager. In early 2006 he was elected Chairman of an international technology firm based in the Asia Pacific region. Flucidity Theory was developed some months later, in a flash of insight that made 'chaos engines' self-evolving.
