Flat Top Grill started with a vision by founder Keene Addington. His idea was to create a positive difference in as many people's lives as possible and decided the best way to achieve this goal would be in the restaurant business.
Back in the early 1990's, Keene spent 28 months in Hong Kong managing for a large restaurant company. While there, he noticed one restaurant that was crammed with Americans every night. When he investigated, he discovered a long line of fresh vegetables, sauces and meats where the guests picked what they want and it was then cooked on a large grill in front of the restaurant.
Upon his return to the U.S., he put together his business plan and pitched it to a group of investors. His goal was to open three restaurants in five years. He exceeded his original vision, as almost ten years later there are nine Flat Top Grill restaurants and more to come...!
