Description
Barrandov Studios was originally built in 1931 by the brothers Gustav and Miloš Havel, family members of the former president of the Czech Republic, Václav Havel. The history of special effects dates back to early 1950´s, when, under the government run studios, a department was created to supply Special Effects to the expanding domestic film industry.
Taking advantage of historical changes at the beginning of 1990s, the company was founded by a group of people with extensive experience in the field, who felt that the special effects department was a good venture, suitable for their artistic backgrounds and professional goals.
Flash Barrandov Special Effects Ltd. became fully independent in 1994 and set as the prime objective to provide world-class Physical Special Effects services while employing the latest technologies and materials.
